Access Shift vs AudioEye
Comparing AudioEye and Access Shift for runtime accessibility automation.
Important: Access Shift is an accessibility automation tool, not a legal certification. No automated tool can guarantee conformance with any accessibility law on its own.
What AudioEye is
AudioEye sells a JavaScript widget plus managed fixes on higher plans, with pricing quoted on request. They have been the subject of FTC action over past marketing claims and are one of the larger publicly traded vendors in the space.
When AudioEye is the better fit
If you want managed remediation engineers handling fixes for you, and you prefer a vendor with public-company reporting and a larger sales footprint, AudioEye is more of an out-of-the-box managed service than Access Shift is today.
When Access Shift is the better fit
If you want public per-website pricing, self-serve sign-up, no per-page-view tax, a 14-day trial without a card, and the explicit recommendation to also commission a human audit, Access Shift is a better fit. Our marketing also avoids the overlay-style claims that drew regulatory attention.

Frequently asked
- Does Access Shift cap by page views?
- No. We price per website, not per page or per visit. That makes spend predictable as your traffic grows.
- What about managed fixes?
- Access Shift's widget applies the WCAG 2.2 AA technical criteria it can fix at runtime. We do not currently offer managed source-code remediation as a service — for that, you would pair us with a remediation firm or an in-house engineer.
- How does Access Shift hedge its marketing claims?
- Our marketing claims policy bans phrases like 'fully compliant', 'lawsuit-proof', and 'guaranteed ADA / WCAG / EAA compliance'. Every compliance-adjacent claim has to be hedged and link to our accessibility statement and terms.
- Can I migrate from AudioEye?
- Yes — uninstall their script, install ours, and re-run a scan. Most visual customizations (colors, motion, language) map naturally. If you have an open AudioEye contract, finish out the term so you are not paying twice.
